Competences

The scientific and technological offering from the Carnot LISA institute is based around three subject areas offering, a wide range of skills:

- Axe 1 : Nutrition - Health and Food Safety

- Axe 2 : Health and Biomolecules

- Axe 3 : Green Chemistry and Bioenergies

IC LISA’s areas of research cover a wide range of scientific and technological challenges in connection with economic and social issues such as food, nutrition, health, green chemistry and new sources of energy.

Area of research 1: Health and Nutrition & Food Safety

- Improving the general health of the population by optimizing the quality of dietary lipids
‘Growing up and getting old healthily’

- Guarantee the health benefits and risks of dietary lipids in order to improve the quality of industrial production
‘Safe and Healthy food’

-  Encourage industries and businesses developing economically and environmentally sustainable fats and oils
‘Environmentally friendly industrial production.’

Area of research 2: Health & Biomolecules

- Understanding lipid metabolism and its biological function
‘Understanding lipids in order to prevent and cure connected diseases’

- Develop simple and effective analytical tools adapted to biological mediums.
‘Optimize costs’

- Develop non invasive medical diagnosis methods (lipid probes and stable isotopes)
‘Developing safe methods of diagnosis’

Area of research 3: Green Chemistry & Bioenergy

- Developing new biofuels
‘Managing the transition to renewable energies’

- Developing new bioproducts and new processes for obtaining them
‘Environmentally friendly solvents, lubricants, detergents, paints, etc...’

- Scaling-up technological processes to the industrial level
‘Moving up from laboratory to industrial pilot scale at a lower cost’
