The objectives of the Carnot system is to promote technology transfer, partnership between research laboratories and companies and innovation development.
The Carnot label Carnot is intended to promote partnership research, i.e. the conduct of research work undertaken by research laboratories in partnership with socio-economic players, particularly with commercial companies.
The development of a research partnership is an important state objective in view of the springboard effect which it represents on national research efforts.
The Carnot label is allocated for a period of four years, renewable, to public research structures, the Carnot Institutes, which simultaneously conduct initial research activities honing their scientific and technological skills and an intentional policy of partnership research for the benefit of the socio-economic world.
Each Carnot Institute undertakes to observe its progress objectives.
These activities are intended:
to ensure scientific resourcing,
improve professionalism (awareness of intellectual property, improved structuring of project management, etc.),
develop socio-economic partnerships,
better integrate the Carnot network.
